This is a design for a Farm House-styled table.  The table is 6 feet long and 3 feet wide and will be built out of clear cut Pine
The top will be constructed of four edge-glued boards with bread board ends.
Here is the turned leg profile design.
I began the project by glueing up blanks for the legs and milling them to size.
The mortises will be layed out and cut next, then the legs will be turned on the lathe.
In the meantime I have spent time working on the top.  The top is made from four boards  that are 9" wide and are edge glued together. Before the boards are glued-I cut a grove down the long edge to receive splines.
The splines will help aligne the edges in the assembly/glue up process and provide extra glue-line surface.
This large panel requires the glue-up to be done in stages. I glued the two inside boards together first.
Then one of the outside boards is glued-
Last board glued up.
After this sets I 'll  glue the other outside board to the panel-the move on to milling up the bread board ends and caps.
First I trimmed the ends to length then milled the tenon.
Next the tenon profile is further refined.
The shallow groove on the end caps are routed.
The deeper sections are drilled on the Mill-Drill with a forstner bit.
Nice fit!... Not glued or pinned yet-that comes next.
