Here is a Sapele and Maple Chess board with an inlaid crest for the Everest Academy in Clarkston.
Here's a happy little pair of nightstands with sparkling glass drawer pulls. These sweet little pieces were designed to hold lap top computers in the upper shelves and assorted items including "napping cats" on the lower shelves.

Still in the "table family" is this Kitchen Island
I built this piece this spring for our house. The island was designed by my wife Eileen for our our kitchen and features
a Sapele top with breadboard ends. Drawers and Sliding doors -all of which can be accessed from either side of the Island.

The most recent piece is a coffee table in Red Oak and was commissioned by my friend Chuck.
It fills two main requirements-
1. Enough space to hold magazines.
2. Support feet whilst watching TV or reading.

The styling features sturdy 3" legs supporting a pegged
breadboard styled top.

Another piece finished in July is this new Farmhouse styled Table .This table features a slightly distressed painted Poplar base and a thick Hickory top with breadboard ends. The clients live on a lovely farm just south of Lansing, Michigan so this table has a fitting farm home. Click on the photo to see more detailed pictures.
Here are three tables of a most interesting origin.
The clients obtained three Redwood slabs when they lived in the Pacific Northwest. They had these slabs for 7 years intending to have them turned into accent tables. We crossed paths on the Internet and I came up with a " Black Post on Plate" design. These tables were delivered in July-click on the picture to see more detailed photos of these beautiful cross sections of Redwood.
Finished and mounted for Holy Week 2012.
This is a cross design that was commissioned as a memorial.
Made from Walnut, Maple and Sapele.
The cross is mounted in the lobby of Ann Arbor Christian School in memory of Lois Jungkuntz.
77" H, 50" W

I think 2012 will be "The year of the Table"  for my shop. The first half of the year produced a number of tables in different styles.

From magazines, coffee cups, flower vases, dinner ware, printers and  computers, to cutting boards, feet and napping cats, Here are a number of pieces that are designed to hold stuff!
Here is a piece I finished and delivered on Memorial Day weekend.
This is a writing desk with a Bird's Eye Maple top and drawer. The base is made from poplar, has a black finish and features "pencil" tipped front legs. The desk resides in an Upper Peninsula cabin and is a companion piece to the "Circle U with a Bird's Eye View" table from 2011

The year began with a pair of "non-table" commissions-
A large Memorial Cross and a Chess board.
Up next is a "Wedge Table for my ever so patient sister Jane. This table made from pine and walnut will reside in her home with two other pieces I made earlier.
I am also working on a piece commissioned to hold and display an antique Bible.
Another piece on the drawing board awaiting final approval for a client is this sweet little demilune accent table in Sapele and Walnut.
